Jonathan was educated at Backwell School, and the Universities of Newcastle upon Tyne, Grenoble, and Bristol, where he studied politics, languages and international relations.
In 1998, after completing his Masters degree, Jonathan joined the British Diplomatic Service, where he learned Arabic, and served in London, Riyadh, Baghdad and Paris, working primarily on national security issues.
In 2010, Jonathan joined the Prime Minister’s Office at 10 Downing Street, where his work focused on international issues, including the UK government response to the Arab Spring, the transparency and open government agenda, technology, enterprise and innovation. From August 2011 to October 2012 Jonathan was also Director of ‘GREAT’, the British government’s global strategic communications campaign to promote tourism and inward investment.
In late 2012, Jonathan left public service and established Luff & Company, a consulting firm specialising in the development of strategic partnerships.
Jonathan lives near Guildford and, when not working, can be distracted by sport of almost any kind.
James has worked in the technology sector for 15 years with an extensive network in both global technology and start up firms. James is sector director at Ernst and Young for technology in the UK and looks after global inbound relationships for US tech firms and a number of UK plcs.

Chris is head of the global TMT group at Brunswick, the world’s leading corporate communications adviser. Brunswick works with companies across the technology and Internet industries, from industry leading multinationals to fast growing start ups. Chris is a passionate supporter of the UK as a global technology hub, and the growth of its start up community. He is a member of the Tech London Advocates, where he chairs the working group on Capital & Investment, runs an entrepreneurs’ mentoring program at Central Working in Shoreditch, and is a judge for the McKinsey Venture Academy.
